Press Release - Announcement

Deus Ex Machina at the Boathouse

FREMONT, CA (JUNE 15, 1998)-- Expose Concert Series Promotions (ECSP) announced today their next two events in the 1998 international concert season. Italian band, DEUS EX MACHINA will be performing two consecutive nights, August 1 and 2, 1998 at the Boathouse in San Francisco at 8:30 PM. Opening Saturday night will be local progressive metal group, PUPPET SHOW. Sunday's opening band is MAELSTROM from Sacramento.

The concerts are both general admission, with advance tickets available now from TicketWeb for $8, ($10 at the door on the day of the show). The Boathouse is a 21 and over only club, located at 1 Harding Road; the venue number is 415-681-2727. Advance tickets will also be on sale soon at both CD Warehouses in Sunnyvale and Newark and directly from ECSP.

We are thrilled to spotlight DEUS EX MACHINA in two unique shows in the SF Bay area. The band is no newcomer to US shores, having performed at both Progfest 95 in LA and Progday in North Carolina in 96. They're a unique hybrid of styles featuring frantic instrumentals, and Latin-sung vocals. The group also features the triple threat onslaught of guitars, keyboards and lead violin. Expect them to push the envelope similar to PFM's Chocolate Kings era with elements of early Led Zeppelin.

Opening on 8/1 will be KINESIS label artists, PUPPET SHOW. The five piece band (heavily influenced by Saga and Dream Theater) will be powering through songs from their scorching new CD, Traumatized. Please visit their website at
